Admit it, we've all slept with our makeup on before, rather it's because we were too lazy or just too tired to wash it off. Besides ruining your pillowcases, sleeping with your makeup on can cause skin problems and possible infections.
I am guilty of sleeping with my makeup on from time to time, just simply because I was too lazy to wash it off. Besides staining my pillowcases, I started breaking out and I am no fan of pimples. Our bodies are covered in pores which secrete a lubricant that moisturizes and protects our skin. Seeing that makeup clogs your pores it prevents that lubricant from secreting so it builds up in you pores and can cause acne and pimples. Make sense?
Not only does sleeping with a face full of makeup cause acne it can cause potential eye infections. Remember my previous post on Wednesday about cleaning your makeup brushes and how you can get infections in your eyes because of using dirty brushes? Well sleeping with eye makeup on can become an irritant and cause your eyes to become red, itchy, and even burn which is a sign of an infection (I've had that happen-- worse pain ever) so with that said, WASH YOUR FACE! No matter how tired, drunk, or whatever the case may be wash that makeup off girl!
Ways to wash your makeup off

Steps
- Use makeup wipes to take off as much makeup as possible (they do not remove everything!)
- With a cotton ball I remove any eye makeup (if I have any on) with Maybelline's Clean Express
- With warm water I use my Cetaphil cleanser to wash off excess makeup
- Using Loreal's Exfoliating Scrub and scrubbing pad I exfoliate my face--I do not do this step every day, just a personal preference. I have this odd fear of over exfoliating and it making my face raw.
- With Clean & Clear's Deep Cleaning Toner, I moisten a cotton ball and apply it to my face and neck
- Last, I take unscented lotion and apply it to my face (it is important to apply a moisturizer after using any toner, toner can dry out your face.)
Tip: Carry makeup remover wipes in your purse or car. That way if you can't wash your face depending on wherever you are, you can get rid of most your makeup.
So remember ladies, WASH YOUR FACE BEFORE BED!
